I purchased this desk protector just to be able to write and sign documents without having to stack paper up. It works perfectly for that! However, the edges are cut slightly imperfect and so it has these little jagged edges. I put that side to the back so it doesn’t really affect me, but I did notice it. I did get the smaller one and wish I would’ve gotten the larger one because 17 x 24” is not very big when you put a keyboard on top of it.I am very pleased with this product. I purchased the clear in 14x63 to protect the top of a bookshelf. It laid flat and is fairly thick and not so easy for me to cut as a senior citizen. However, I would have given it 5 stars but the 14 inch side measured about a half inch more than that. I knew there was supposed to be a little extra to account for possible shrinkage, but since my top measured exactly 14 inches in width, I had to cut the entire length to get it to fit without so much overlap. That was not easy for me to do and especially to get it cut nice and straight. I am pleased with the end result but I feel a product should not claim to be 14 inches in width when it obviously was more than that.I used this for under the litter boxes and under the cats water bowls. I have very messy curious kitties and this works wonders! Makes everything was to clean and keeps surfaces from getting damaged. Very durableIt comes well packed and tightly rolled with suggestions how to straitened and smooth it. It does take a little effort to unroll. Yes, it smells like plastic for a couple of hours, BUT it goes away. It has good thickness and size is as advertised. I have got two different sizes. No complaints. Worth the money. If you have fine wood table go with glass. If you kid is going to paint and cut the desk - this is the answer.Smaller than what I expected but overall no damages.
