Works great for a diy table.I didn’t like the cost of low quality desks and especially not the higher quality desks, so I decided to make my own. I bought a 2’x5’ oak butcher block for $99 at the hardware store, espresso stain and polyurethane. Add the legs and I spent about $210. I mounted the wood to these stylish table legs and now I have a beautiful solid desk that can be passed down through the family. I work from home and really love this desk. The keyboard tray I took off my old desk that now holds the printer and occasional admin cat.I was worried the legs may allow the desk to rock, but they are stable, so no worries. My only complaint is the screws strip very easily if you are not lined up perfectly straight. Due to the design of the legs you cannot get perfectly straight with a drill on several of the screws, so I recommend using a ratchet with a Phillips tip. Make sure your holes are pre-drilled and they will screw in easily.Read up on wood finishing so you have better results with the stain. I didn’t realize that even with oak some of the grain will lift due to the water based stain and I should have pre-wet and sanded 2-3 times before staining. So I had to do some light sanding after staining and then compromise with not a perfectly smooth finish. It is still a smooth enough finish though and I love the look and am very happy with my DIY desk.Package came without instructions, but the included bag of screws made installation pretty self-explanatory. The legs themselves required no assembly. Even after predrilling holes for the screws, mounting the legs was fairly awful since the screws stripped so easily. One of the screw heads even twisted right off while using a regular screwdriver. Was able to get enough of them tight such that the table felt somewhat sturdy after. Would recommend tossing the bag of screws in the trash and buying a decent set of 1" wood screws to use instead (needs 16 screws). Black metal finish on the legs is very uneven, though not terribly visible after installation.Finish is good, welds are a bit sloppy and the top plate you fasten to the table is just tack welded in three spots on each side. This is a pretty solid and sturdy leg but you would be better served if you cut a recess to install the legs to the table top. I did not do this and there is a little slop and wobble, but minimal. The only complaint is with the quality of the adjustable feet that screw into the bottom of the legs. One of them when screwed in didn't get tight and just kept slipping and can't be removed now. That means I have one non adjustable and non removable foot. Kinda lame. Still four stars because I could live without the feet if I need to.Very beautiful sturdy legs. Been using for almost a year and they have held up perfectly. I would recommend them 10/10These legs were pretty easy to install and overall sturdy. Each leg attaches with 8 screws, but I only used 4 per leg (might go back later and add more to be thorough). The screws that come with the legs are way too long, I had to swap them for shorter screws I had on hand so they wouldnt go through the other side of the wood. The legs are even and all wobble from the table is resolved! Biggest complaint is the paint job. There are a few places that were already scratched up when opening the box (the box itself was in pretty bad shape but it didn't seem like it was all from delivery... it looked like this box had been moved around a warehouse and shuffled around shelves for months). One side of one leg also looks like it didn't get a thorough coating of paint, it is a little splotchy (see third picture). The hassle of exchanging these was not worth it (especially since the box was pretty worn down) and I was able to hide these imperfections by attaching the legs so the scratches are on the "back" side of the table. Overall they are sturdy, would give them a 3.5.The metal black A-frame table legs are the right height and modern looking. Note that the seams between the legs and the top of the A frame are not blended weld seams, but rather four spots that have a 1/2 inch weld - not the full length of the metal. Also the black paint chips at times. That being said, it's very easy to install and looks beautiful. The positive, quick delivery, very sturdy. Feet are good quality. The matte painted finish looks good. The bad...Assembling the side pieces of the legs to the main frames was incredibly difficult. As in, took almost an hour, required two sets of vice grips (which scratched the finish on the legs), WD 40 and a lot of muscle power. The holes on the brackets between the main frame and the side legs do not line up on either set. Given everything is solid metal, I literally had to vice grip the brackets on all 4 mounting locations into position and then use oil to lubricate the screws and then force them in with a much better allen key. It's clear they they are not test assembled at the factory because they don't come close to fitting without a ton of effort. I expect most people would simply return them. I did get everything assembled but this is one of the toughest pieces of "pre-assembled" furniture I've ever had to assemble. The other big issue is the metal tabs that have the mounting holes for bolting to the underside of a desk are not flush with the top of the brackets... This means that the tabs actually have to be bent for the screws to grab. Again incredibly poor quality control. Metal tabs should not need to be bent (and I had to use a cordless drill to get enough torque to bend them), other wise if screwed in to the limit without bending, there is an 1/8th of an inch gap between the mounting plates and the underside of the desk. Given the holes are bigger than the screws, that means the legs can slide around freely. Also bending the tabs weakens the welds used to connect them to the main frames. Hopefully time and stress won't cause them to buckle. If these two items were addressed, I'd give this a much better rating as they look good once installed and are very sturdy. However for this kind of price, these are what I consider fatal design flaws. If I would have had the time to return these and get others I would have done so.This is exactly what I was looking for, the size, the design, the sturdiness, everything is perfect. Will be making a bbq table for backyard, now I can make table custom size.My husband decided to make me a desk since we had a piece of wood, and we needed the legs.Really happy with the results. Great price, great quality and it makes my desk look really nice!I would highly recommend if you need a set of legs for something you build! We used these legs on the bottom of a live edge table well use for video production. The powder black finish is nice and gives a classic feel. Good stuff. They are simple and nice looking. You need to buy small screws separately if the table top you are using is only 3/4 of inch thick
